FROM THE OWNERS
'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through Antoni's,
there was so much stirring you could feel a slight breeze.
The silver was set on the tables with care,
in the hopes that our guests soon would be there.
The servers were nestled all snug in the hall,
wishing for the best Christmas weekend of all.
And Eli in his tie, and I in my jacket,
peeked into the kitchen to say, "Hey stop all that racket!"
For out the front door there'd arose such a clatter,
we sprang to the entry to see what was the matter.
Away to windows,
we all of us flew,
for what could be so raucous,
at 5:02?
The Antoni's sign with its reddened-light glow
gave a luster of crimson to objects below,
When, what to our wondering eyes did appear?
But a long line of guests, and their purpose was clear.
We opened the doors, and they filed in non-stop,
For they'd read the email and had come for Veal Chop!
More rapid than eagles the courses they came,
The cooks whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Stuffed Mushrooms! And Meatballs, and Salmon Fillet!
We Need Salad, and Pizza and Cacio e Pepe!
From the back of the oven to the top of the grill,
Let's serve all the patrons till everyone gets their fill!"
And then, in the dining room, all that we heard,
Was the clinking of flatware and not much of a word,
For the guests were enjoying the fruits of our labors,
and we were honored to serve them, as our friends and our neighbors.
The evening wound down, and as the last ones departed,
We looked round in gratitude, full and whole-hearted.
"This year," we said at the end of the night,
"Has been grand and eventful and pretty alright!
And so, to our guests, in whom we delight,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good bite!"
